A young woman has pleaded guilty to dealing methamphetamine worth $15,000 less than six months after she was released on parole for killing a beloved Sydney lawyer when she was driving high on ice.

A woman who ran down and killed a beloved Sydney lawyer on his motorcycle while she was high on ice started dealing methamphetamine only months after she was released from prison on parole for his death.

Taylor Angell, 23, walked free in July 2018 three years and three months after she was jailed for killing Cronulla man Marc Leabeater as he rode his motorcycle in Caringbah in December 2014.

Less than six months after her release, police found her unconscious in a running car at 1.30am with 29.12g of methamphetamine, $1026.45 in cash and digital scales in a pale pink handbag at her feet.

Police facts indicate the drugs, if on-sold, were worth an estimated $15,000.

Angell pleaded guilty to supplying an indictable quantity of drugs and will be sentenced at Downing Centre District Court on December 18 after Judge Jane Culver granted an adjournment for psychological assessment.

“It would assist the court to know if there is any such matter that needs to be taken into account,” Judge Culver told the court.

Angell will be sentenced next month.

The fact Angell was on parole for Mr Leabeater’s death when she committed the offence will be taken into account as an aggravating factor in her sentencing.

Angell was convicted of aggravated dangerous driving causing death in 2015 after she killed Mr Leabeater while she was driving high on ice on Taren Point Rd on December 29, 2014.

She served the minimum non-parole period of three years and three months out of the full five year and five month sentence.

A State Parole Authority spokeswoman confirmed Angell’s parole was to expire on November 24, 2020.

“In making its decision to release the offender to parole, the State Parole Authority took into account a Community Corrections report, the judge’s sentencing remarks and the offender’s criminal history,” the spokeswoman said.

Angell was subject to several parole conditions, including that she must be of good behaviour, not commit any offences and adapt to normal lawful community life.
