Molly Cahill charged with drug offences while on bail for the third time

A woman who has now been granted bail three times since an alleged hit-and-run which left a motorcycle rider seriously injured has been charged with possessing ice, GHB and cannabis.

A young woman who allegedly bashed a cop and smashed up a police station while on bail for an alleged hit-and-run which left a motorcycle rider and his girlfriend seriously injured has been charged with drug possession.

Molly Cahill, 22, was granted bail at Sutherland Local Court on April 9 after she was charged with drifting onto the wrong side of Forest Rd in Penshurst and running down the 36-year-old man and his 28-year-old partner before she allegedly fled the scene.

She has now been charged with three counts of prohibited drug possession after police allegedly found her with 1.01g of the drug ice, 20mL of liquid ecstasy and 2.26g of cannabis in Kogarah on August 8.

Cahill had been granted bail for the third time when the alleged offences occurred, less than three months following a shocking alleged incident at Westfield Miranda.

On May 19 Cahill was charged with shoplifting sunglasses and make-up worth $3000, assaulting the police officer who arrested her, and then smashing a glass panel at Sutherland police station minutes after she was granted bail for the second time.

The Sans Souci woman will have to enter a plea or request a hearing date at Sutherland Local Court on October 24.

Cahill will enter a plea for the shoplifting, police assault, reckless property damage and offensive behaviour charges related to the May incidents on the same date.

She will also be sentenced that day for drug driving with a cocktail of illegal and prescription drugs in her system before she crossed onto the wrong side of the road and hit a roundabout in Wollongong last February.

Cahill will face Downing Centre District Court on October 31 for charge certification in relation to the alleged hit-and-run in Penshurst.

She is yet to enter a plea to two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm, failing to stop and help after a crash and not keeping left of the dividing line.

Police allege Cahill texted her friends after the crash saying “what if I hurt him?”.
