The young woman jailed for killing Cronulla lawyer Marc Leabeater while she was driving high on ice has had her parole formally revoked after she was caught dealing ice worth thousands of dollars.

Taylor Angell, now 23, served three years and three months of her almost six-year prison sentence for running down Mr Leabeater, 26, on his motorbike in Taren Point in December 2014.

Less than six months after she walked free in July 2018, police found her unconscious in a running car in Caringbah with $15,000 of methylamphetamine in a pink handbag at her feet.

Angell was sentenced to a minimum of 12 months’ imprisonment for the drug supply in December 2019 and would have walked free this month until the State Parole Authority stepped in.

“Taylor Angell’s parole was revoked on January 8 2020 for a breach of her second parole condition, which is that she must not commit any offences,” a State Parole Authority spokeswoman said.

“A public review hearing of this decision will be held on February 7 and Angell remains in custody.”

Angell will face the parole board on February 7.

The State Parole Authority listed Angell for a parole revocation hearing after they were informed of her prison sentence for the drug supply charge in December.

“It is expected she will serve the balance of her original sentence in custody, which is set to expire on November 24 2020,” the spokeswoman said earlier in January.

The tragic death of Mr Leabeater in the prime of his life, who was a rising star at law firm Kennedys and a popular Cronulla surf club member, left the Sutherland Shire community utterly devastated.

Angell was just 18 when she careened into him on Taren Point Rd while she was driving high on ice, and has since spent all but a few months of her adult life in jail.

She has been back behind bars since she was originally arrested over the drug supply on January 14 2019.

Police facts state officers were patrolling Sunnyside Ave in Caringbah when they saw a blue Ford Laser with its engine running in front of a unit block.

Police allege Angell was asleep in the front seat before she woke up and began to “ramble, making no sense”.

Officers said Angell appeared to be drug-affected, as her pupils were dilated and she was “gnawing on her bottom lip”.

She faces the parole board next month.
