Water polo Australia’s NSW stars, standouts at national states, cadet, youth team players, MVPs
The recent national state titles have thrown a spotlight on the Next Gen of water polo. NSW stars and standouts on track to make a big splash this summer - and beyond.

NSW players were some of the stars of the show the show at the recent Water Polo Australia National state 15 and 17 and under championships for girls and boys in Queensland and Victoria.
Not only did they help teams to medals in the different age groups, many cracked Australian squads in a mighty show of strength from the state .
These national squads are being formed to work towards developing medal winning teams at the Olympic Games in LA in 2028 and Brisbane in 2032.
At the girls national states played on the Gold Coast, Saskia Dunn from NSW Blues was voted the most valuable player in the 15 and under competition.
RISING STARS OF GIRLS WATER POLO
At the National states played in Victoria Orlando Mina from the NSW Blues also took out the MVP in the 15 and undoers.
Harper Stewart from the NSW Blues was named MVP of the 17 and under boys competition
NSW players also dominated a number of goal scoring lists across the ages.
Five players from NSW made the top 10 goal scorers list at the end of the 15 and under girls competition.
Armani Jamieson from the NSW Blues was second on the list with 24 goals while Keira Rippon from the NSW Blues was fourth with 20.
Dunn from NSW Blues was sixth with 20, Sophie Pethers was ninth with 17 and Christina DiGiandomenico was 10th with 16.
Queenslander Bless Daly led the goal scorers list with 28 with Millie Sullivan from WA in third place with 23 and Sienna Walker, also from WA, in fifth with 21.
The ACT’s Kiera Mironova was eighth with 17 while Dasha Osadchuk from Queensland Maroon was voted the 15 and under most valuable goalkeeper.
In the 17 and under competition, MVP award honours went to Chelsea Johnson and the title of the Most Valuable Goalkeeper to her Queensland Maroons teammate Horatio Schlect.
NSW had four players on the top 10 goal scoring list in Chelsea Issac from NSW Waratahs with 17 in third place, Leila Smith from NSW Blues in fifth place with 16, Anneliese Pamp from NSW Blues in 8th with 15 and Zoe Thomas from NSW Blues in 10th with 15.
Four players made the 15 and under top 10 goal scorers list with Orlando Mina from NSW Blues in third with 21 goals, Joshua Gould from NSW Blues in fifth with 18 goals, Max Burke-Moore from NSW Blues in seventh with 16 goals and Sam Rolfe from NSW Waratahs in 10th with 15 goals.
NSW players also earned big representation in Australian squads
Christina DiGiandomenico was named in the cadet squad along with Kate Duffy (NSW), Saskia Dunn (NSW), Sarah Hull (NSW), Stella Hutchens (NSW), Armani Jamieson (NSW), Tahlia Penney (NSW), Gabrielle Perkins (NSW), Sophie Pethers (NSW), Claudia Quinn (NSW), Kiera Rippon (NSW), Indiana Smith (NSW), Amy Somboli (NSW), Annabelle Waugh (NSW), Minty Welsh (NSW), Lilly Wirth (NSW).
NSW players named in the Australian youth squad are Georgia Chapman (NSW), Lily Dunn (NSW), Ella Fraser (NSW), Samantha Hardingham (NSW), Chelsea Isaac (NSW), Nancy Lee (NSW), Lucy Levenberg-Penklis (NSW), Stela Lovrinovic-Kaic (NSW), Ebony Nash (NSW), Layla Smith (NSW), Zoe Thomas (NSW) and Matilda Waugh (NSW).
NSW players have also filled multiple sports in the boys Cadet and Youth teams.
In the Cadets, Huw Bloomfield Easts, Newcastle made the cut along with Max Burke-Moore UNSW Wests, Benjamin Burshtein UNSW Wests, Lachlan Davies Sydney Northern Beaches, Ryan Ford Sydney University NSW, Joshua Gould Ovens; Murray, Cillian McGrath Sydney Northern Beaches Declan McGregor UNSW Wests, Orlando Mina Sydney University, Zachary Paul Sydney Northern Beaches, Max Ryan Sydney Northern Beaches, Jett Semmens Sydney Northern Beaches and Campbell Warren, Sydney University NSW.
