An ambitious strategy to revolutionise and redevelop Rouse Hill Town Centre has led to the release of plans for more high-rise residential towers at the landmark centre.
Developer and centre manager, GPT Group, has revealed its ambitions to establish a nine-precinct masterplan for the Rouse Hill Regional Centre — which resulted in a series of expansion projects.
“The vision for the Rouse Hill Regional Centre is to create a benchmark for sustainable urban communities … which adapts socially, economically and environmentally to the needs of a thriving community,” GPT said in its latest development application.
The proposal, which includes two residential high-rise towers ranging from 5 to 12 storeys in height, comes after the developer submitted $100 million expansion plans for the stage two redevelopment of the shopping centre in December and a $35 million development application for an 11-storey residential tower to include 141 units on the corner of Caddies Blvd and Rouse Hill Drive in August last year.

The latest development will see the two residential towers featuring 142 apartments located on top of the proposed retail precinct.
GPT chief operating officer Mark Fookes said the proposed development was part of the long-term vision and masterplan to evolve Rouse Hill Town Centre as a major regional centre.
“The residential scheme seeks to complement the existing mixed-use success of Rouse Hill Town Centre, which currently includes 104 apartments and over 180 retailers,” Mr Fookes said.

“The residential redevelopment is integrated within a larger retail expansion which seeks to add more than 16,000sqm of retail offering.
“The expansion will provide additional public amenity through new open spaces and will build on GPT’s objective to deliver a vibrant and pedestrian-friendly mixed-use precinct where the surrounding community can meet, shop, be entertained, dine, work and live.”
Mr Fookes said the developer was continuing to work on the Rouse Hill masterplan and “look forward to providing an update later in 2019”.
