A Sydney lawyer has been charged with committing multiple frauds across several years, dating as far back as 2020.
Beecroft man David Warwick Morieson, 53, faces five fraud charges between September 14, 2020, and August 17, 2022, when he is alleged to have swindled a total of $93,900.
He is also charged with failing to appear in the Penrith Local Court on February 27, 2025.
Court documents allege Morieson obtained the money by issuing fraudulent invoices with his name and bank details.
All charges are alleged to have happened in Penrith.
The documents did not state how many people allegedly fell victim to the scam, but that Morieson at one point allegedly swindled as much as $47,900 between May 20 and August 17 in 2022.
He was apprehended by Nepean Police on October 3, 2024.
Morieson faced Penrith Local Court via video link from the Cooma Correctional Centre on May 15, where his matter was swiftly adjourned.

He was remanded in custody and is next expected to face court on June 5.
