Claremont Meadows: Shaun Prakisch pleads guilty to using Snapchat to solicit nude pics from underage girl
A train mechanic, then 36, has admitted using Snapchat to solicit nude pics from a girl he knew was under 16, repeatedly telling her it would be a “one off dare never to be done again”.

A train mechanic supervisor from Western Sydney has pleaded guilty to using Snapchat to obtain child abuse material from a young Central Coast girl he knew was under 16.
Shaun Prakisch, 37, of Claremont Meadows, faced Gosford Local Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to three offences including using a carriage service to solicit, possessing and accessing child abuse material.
Upon entering his guilty pleas, a fourth charge of using a carriage service to groom a child for sex was withdrawn and dismissed.
An agreed set of facts states Prakisch had known the victim for several years.
“Late on the night of Sunday, April 28, 2024 (the victim) was at home in her bedroom when she received a Snapchat text message from Prakisch,” the facts state.
“The pair engaged in casual conversation before Prakisch told (her) that she was `so good looking it’s next level’.”
The girl thanked him for the compliment and he went further to say: “Is it weird that I find you sexy as fk?” followed by “Is it ok that I find you sexy?”.
The girl immediately replied telling him to remember she was under 16 before screen capturing his messages.
Five minutes later he voice-called the victim via Snapchat and verbally told her how he found her sexy.
He asked her to send him naked photographs of herself but she refused.
Prakisch offered to send her naked photographs of himself in return and again she refused.
The facts state he then pleaded with her to send him child abuse material saying it would be a “one off, one dare never to be done again”.
The girl was required to continually decline Prakisch’s repeated requests which made her feel uncomfortable and scared.
He then questioned her about her virginity before asking “How would you like me to take your virginity?”
“(The victim) immediately recognised this comment as a proposition for sex and she became upset. Prakisch directed (her) not to tell anyone about their conversation as he considered it a private matter between the two of them,” the facts state.
”Prakisch then sent (her) another message, stating, “are you down for a once off dare never to be done again and it’s only because in my eyes you are f--king gorgeous. PS no saves.”
A week later the girl disclosed the incident to her mother and the following day the pair went to Wyong police station where the girl provided officers the screenshots of his messages and participated in a video interview.
A few days later, officers from the Nepean Domestic Violence Arrest Team attended Prakisch’s Elouera Court address and took him to Penrith police station.
He declined to be interviewed and was charged with the matters before the court.
On Thursday, Prakisch’s matter was adjourned to face Gosford District Court on June 12 to fix a sentence date.
His bail was continued.
