This could become one of Sydney’s coolest, albeit noisiest, apartment complexes, where a bowling alley and bar are planned for the western Sydney double-tower site. Check out the plans.

Get ready to polish your bowling balls because another tenpin alley could be rolling into Parramatta if Archie Brothers’ plan scores approval for The Lennox tower.

Funlab, which is the parent company of Archie’s and runs a bowling alley at Alexandria, has lodged plans with Parramatta Council to fit out the second level of The Lennox tower at Church St with the alley, mini golf, amusement games and a licensed eatery.

The venue, to be positioned on The Terrace of the 43-storey building, would accommodate 350 staff and patrons with 90 staff employed as managers, amusement operators, floor staff and bar tenders.

It would operate between 10am and midnight every day, which has generated noise concerns outlined in an acoustics report that said “patron and background music noise, recreational facility noise as well as mechanical plant,’’ noise would be emitted.

However the assessment concluded that the noise would comply with the requirements of the Liquor and Gaming and the NSW Environmental Protection Authority’s noise policy.

“In the event of noisy patrons, management must be notified to address and assess the situation,’’ the report said.

The Lennox apartment building could also accommodate an indoor recreation centre.

“Trained managers are to make appropriate actions to ensure noise does not affect the surrounding community.’’

The dual-tower Lennox is on the former carpark site and houses apartments facing the river, Phillip and Marsden streets.

After eight modifications to building plans it is still under construction but units are being sold off the plan.

Funlab is also the parent company of Strike and Holey Moley tenpin bowling and mini golf indoor venues, which are becoming more popular in Parramatta.

Kicks Tenpin Arcade opened at Parramatta Leagues Club in 2018 while Timezone’s bowling alleys, arcade games and laser tag has been in action since June when it opened in the former Phoenix Chinese restaurant at Westfield.
