Major family entertainment and leisure company Timezone is proposing a tenpin bowling alley with video games for Westfield Parramatta.
The company has lodged plans to fit out a 1750sq m site on level four of the shopping centre where there will be four bowling alleys, bumper cars, a laser tag arena and a function area to host birthday parties.
Timezone said the centre would have capacity for 400 patrons and mainly catered for families.
“The proposal seeks to respond to emerging consumer trends and diversify the retail experience of Westfield Parramatta by introducing a recreation and leisure-based venue whereby families, children and the local community can play and socialise,’’ the plans state.
Other Westfield shopping centres with a Timezone inside include Tuggerah and Liverpool, Macquarie Centre, Hornsby, Chatswood and Miranda.
Subject to approval, the centre will get underway from 10am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 9am to midnight Friday and Saturday.
Timezone once ran opposite Parramatta train station at Argyle St but closed to make way for the transport interchange which opened in 2006.
The tenpin alley opened at Kick’s Arcade in Parramatta Leagues Club in 2018 but bowling buffs have been deprived of facilities since the AMF shut about 2006 to make way for multi-storey apartments.
