Police officer Ankit Thangasamy, 30, charged with alleged sexual assault
A cop who was charged with an alleged sexual assault in Sydney’s CBD has fronted court a month after his arrest.

Policeman Ankit Thangasamy of Greystanes has fronted court after he was charged with an alleged sexual assault of a woman in Sydney’s CBD.
The 30-year-old Greystanes constable, who is attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, was charged following an investigation the Professional Standards Command officers began in December.
On Wednesday March 9, Constable Thangasamy was arrested at a Greystanes property and taken to Fairfield police station and charged with sexual intercourse without consent.
The alleged incident happened between 11.53am and 2.05am.
Constable Thangasamy was granted conditional bail to appear before Fairfield Court on Monday, where he represented himself.
The matter was adjourned to May 16.
His bail was continued. His employment status remains under review.
