Police nab three men allegedly connected to Old Guildford drug syndicate

Versace shoes, Chanel bags, guns, cash and cocaine have been seized in a drug syndicate bust across four homes in western Sydney.

Police have seized almost a dozen firearms, more than $400,000 cash, and $1 million worth of designer goods, before charging three men over their alleged roles in a sophisticated cocaine syndicate.

In February 2019, investigators from Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad (RES) commenced an investigation into the supply and distribution of cocaine across the South West Metropolitan Region.

Following extensive inquiries, Wetherill Park RES, assisted by officers from Bass Hill RES, executed four search warrants at homes at Old Guildford and Merrylands on Wednesday.

Investigators also served a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) on a 30-year-old man at one of the properties, before conducting a search of another Merrylands home.

During the searches, police seized eight Glock semiautomatic pistols and an extended Glock magazine, two Desert Eagle semiautomatic pistols, a pen gun for .22 calibre, ammunition, two knuckle dusters, handcuffs, an electronic stun gun, with cartridges; and a variety of prohibited and restricted substances, including cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, steroids and Valium.

The firearms will undergo extensive forensic and ballistic examination.

Investigators also seized a total of $420,000 cash and uncashed cheques, as well as luxury clothing, jewellery, bedding, and other fashion accessories, believed to be valued in excess of $1 million.

Three men — aged 23 and two aged 30 — were arrested during the operation and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The 23-year-old Guildford man was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, four counts of supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, possess prohibited drug, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm, and organises/conducts etc drug premises expose child.

The 30-year-old Bankstown man was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, five counts of supply prohibited drug, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, and possess prescribed restricted substance.

The 30-year-old Merrylands man was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, two counts of deal with proceeds of crime, money/property over $100,000; three counts of possess prohibited drug, found on/entering/leaving drug premises, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess prescribed restricted substance, and organises/conducts etc drug premises expose child.

The men were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Thursday.

A fourth man — aged 25 — was found to be in possession of cocaine. He will be issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug.

Investigations by Wetherill Park RES are continuing.
