Police charge third man, 38, from Carlingford in multimillion-dollar ice syndicate
Police have charged a third man in connection to the syndicate looking to import $36 million worth of ice onto Sydney streets.
A third man has been charged in the case of the Iranian international drug syndicate based out of western Sydney.
Police established strike force decry in June last year after finding evidence of a criminal network in Guildford and Carlingford.
As part of their inquiries, detectives uncovered a number of alleged conspiracies to import up to 40kg of ice, which would have an estimated potential street value of $36 million, from Iran into Sydney.
Following further inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a unit in Carlingford on Thursday, March 14.
On Friday, a 38-year-old man from Carlingford was issued a future court attendance notice for participate in criminal group and possess prescribed restricted substance.
Last month detectives charged two men, aged 27 and 37 with participating in the criminal group. They remain before the courts.
A storage facility in Guildford was also raided by officers on Tuesday, February 26.
Detectives located several boxes of washing powder that was seized to undergo forensic examination.
Officers located and seized several items, including mobile phones and document relevant to the investigation.
The Carlingford man is due to appear at Parramatta Court on Wednesday, May 8.
