Will and Steve to open new food court at Warringah Mall

The first phase of Warringah Mall’s redevelopment is about to be unveiled, with the opening of a new “rustic marketplace” food court and 1200 parking spaces.

Warringah Mall will unveil its new look food court at the end of the month, as part of the centre’s $310m redevelopment.

A new 1200 five-storey car park on the corner of Cross St and Green St, will also open on the same day, June 30.

Karen Skinner, centre manager, said the opening of the food market and dining area near Woolworths and Big W was the first big reveal of the redevelopment.

There will be new outlets including Asian salad fast food operator Banana Blossom and others offering ethical or organic foods, including The Natural Butcher, oFarm, and Naked Foods.

“We want shoppers to feel like they are getting that rustic market experience,” said Ms Skinner, who said the space would be slightly larger, with new flooring and “beautiful furniture”.

“We tried to be mindful of our coastal links, it does feel relaxed, but it is also elegant.

“It will be a really comfy place to have a coffee and experience fresh food.”

Ms Skinner said the new car park would have a guided light system pointing drivers to free spaces.

Manly’s My Kitchen Rules winners Steve Flood and Will Stewart will be at the opening, cooking recipes from their new cookbook out in September.

The pair will give a cooking demonstration between 11.30am and 4pm on June 30 and from 2pm on July 2.
