‘Scream’ movie mask used during terrifying assault and attempted robbery on bike trail
A TEENAGE cyclist was terrorised by a man wearing a mask made infamous by the horror movie ‘Scream’ when he jumped from bushes and attacked him with a pole and threatened to kill him.

POLICE are on the hunt for a man who wore a ‘Scream’ movie mask while carrying out a terrifying attack on a teenage cyclist at Narrabeen on Sydney’s northern beaches on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old boy was riding along the Narrabeen Lagoon Multi-Use Trail on his way home to Collaroy about 6.30pm when the alleged attack took place.
Police allege the boy was about 1km from the South Creek end of the trail when the man in the a Scream mask jumped out of the bush, swore at him and threatened to kill him.
Police say the victim attempted to get away from the man by riding quicker, however the offender hit him with a wooden pole or similar object, knocking him to the ground.
The offender attempted to grab the boy’s backpack but he managed to escape to Jamieson Park.
The boy sustained a large welt and bruising to his left shoulder.
The attacker has been described as male, caucasian with a slim build, wearing a Scream face mask and a black long-sleeved top and black shoes.
Police are treating the incident as a suspected attempted robbery at this stage but would like to speak to anyone who was on the trail or saw someone acting suspiciously to contact them.
