Three people have been charged with drug offences in two separate incidents across the northern beaches this week.
At around 1:30pm on Sunday, police were conducting patrols in Terrey Hills. A Frenchs Forest man was spotted exiting shops and he was approached by police. A check of the 25-year-old revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Police searched through the man’s bag and allegedly found a black container which had one used syringe, two new syringes and a clear resealable bag containing 1.58 grams of cannabis and a clear resealable bag containing 0.80 grams of the drug ice.
He was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug as well as the outstanding warrant.
Meanwhile, two people have also been charged with drug offences and the occupants of a house are being investigated after five cannabis plants were found in their backyard.
On Monday night police went to Taronga Place at Mona Vale after receiving reports a man was living in a van. When the police arrived, they allegedly found cannabis in the man’s van, so he was charged with possessing cannabis.
A few hours later, police patrolling the Brookvale industrial area stopped and searched a man in Mitchell Rd and allegedly found him in possession of a small plastic bag containing the drug ice.
On Tuesday night, police executed search warrant on a home in Rickard Rd at North Narrabeen and allegedly found five cannabis plants in the backyard and a large quantity of cannabis leaf in the house.
The occupants of the house are now being investigated and charges of cultivating and possessing cannabis are expected to be laid.
