A MANLY man took impressing the opposite sex to a new level on Saturday night, with police finding him doing push-ups along East Esplanade, naked.
Police say they found the 28-year-old nude on the edge of the concrete wall along East Esplanade in a push-up position, with two girls videoing the activity.
It is not known if they knew the man or simply stopped to film him.
Police asked the man to put his clothes back on and provide identification.
He initially refused, finished his set of push-ups – another three – and then stood up. The man then reluctantly put his shorts on, with the fly still undone, and then his shirt.
Police advised him that it was an offence to be naked in a public place.
He was charged with offensive behaviour and given an intoxicated move on direction and was told to leave the Manly CBD for six hours.
Police were kept busy in Manly last weekend, with a number of people charged with offensive conduct, offensive language, failing to quit licensed premises and the continuation of intoxicated and disorderly behaviour following a move on direction.
Fines for the above offences start at $500.
