Lisa Oldfield says strict rules on entry into Australia are needed as she revealed she knew victim, Katrina Dawson

THE TV presenter wife of One Nation co-founder David Oldfield, was friends with Katrina Dawson, who was killed during the terror incident at the Lindt Cafe - and she said controls are needed.

THE  TV presenter wife of One Nation co-founder David Oldfield, has revealed she still grieves over the loss of her friend who was killed in the Sydney Siege.

Lisa Oldfield was a friend of Katrina Dawson, who it has been revealed during an inquest was killed by police gunfire during the terror incident at the Lindt Cafe in December 2014.

She was one of the hostages taken by gunman, Man Haron Monis.

The 41-year old TV presenter from Belrose, has revealed she knew Mrs Dawson though work.

“People are frightened,” she said.

“I lost a dear friend of mine, Kat Dawson, in the Lindt massacre.

“Kat was someone just like me. She has just graduated in law when I met her.

“She was a professional women, she had three children, she went into a coffee shop to have a hot chocolate, and never came out.”

And while she said she didn’t agree with Channel Nine host Sonia Kruger’s call last week for Muslims to be banned, she was “in two minds” on the issue.

“I think we should be able to say who comes here, and I think we should put strict regulations, you know, make sure we vet everyone that’s coming here,” Mrs Oldfield said.

“You know as far as banning all Muslims, that’s probably going over the top, but by the same token that doesn’t mean we can’t decide who’s coming here.”

Mrs Oldfield, who will appear in new reality series Real Housewives of Sydney said while she didn’t see Mrs Dawson regularly, she described her as “extremely warm”.

“She had a presence about her. She was one of those friends you can go five years without seeing and you do and it’s just the same.

“She was a working mum, she was an amazing lady.”

Mrs Oldfield’s husband David founded the One Nation political party with controversial politician Pauline Hanson, and has previously voiced his views on Muslims.

Ms Hanson wants to stop Muslim immigration and has called for an inquiry into Islam.

Wile Mr Oldfield told the Manly Daily he’s no longer in contact with Mrs Hanson, he penned a piece for the Daily Telegraph earlier this month saying she’s “just what we need” after she got into the Senate.
