Queenscliff man bun guy lands modelling gigs after being scouted in pub

A TRENDY ‘man bun’ coupled with a beer in Hotel Steyne on Melbourne Cup Day landed Tom Nunn, 23, a modelling career.

The Queenscliff camera technician was spotted in the bar by a Manly modelling agency and is now juggling his work on Fox Sports and The Voice with catwalk shows and photo shoots.

The 6ft-1 surfer has already worked with Jennifer Hawkins at the Myer Autumn/Winter show, and experts reckon he’s set for a global career.

“I was up to try new things,” said Mr Nunn, who is single. “People have said I should be a model before, but going to a boy’s school and playing rugby – it was not something I’d do unless somebody led me into it.”

Mr Nunn has even played long-locked Italian model Fabio in a TV ad.

He’s started taking more care of his hair, after admitting he didn’t wash it much before.

He even uses celeb-favourite Moroccan Oil to stop in drying out after he’s been in the water.

Mr Nunn, who has also modelled for website The Iconic, and Cosmo Bride magazine, has also been told to lay off his favourite transport method of skateboarding before jobs, in case he scrapes his face.

Kathryn Taylor from Bella Management, said not only does Mr Nunn have perfect measurements for modelling, his man bun and beard combination make him sought-after by fashion firms.

“His looks are on trend,” she said.

But Ms Taylor said landing a modelling gig is not just about having hip hair- it’s also about presence and personality.

“As soon as they walk in the room, we know,” she said.
