High-profile Sydney chef Guillaume Brahimi is making a culinary detour to the northern beaches next weekend.

Brahimi will host a special three-course lunch at The Collaroy showcasing three dishes from his cookbook Food For Family.

The beachfront hotel was the perfect leisurely lunch venue, Brahimi said.

“It is such a beautiful location so it is perfect for a Sunday lunch with friends,” he said.

“The menu features the food that I love to cook.”

The Paris-born chef, who came to Australia 24 years ago, said his two passions were cooking and rugby.

“I have been cooking since I was 14. I still love cooking — it makes people happy,” he said.

He will share that love with guests at the event.

On arrival, attendees will receive a glass of Veuve, then they will watch Brahimi’s 40-minute cookery demonstration.

“I will be preparing the first course. The focus is seasonal ingredients,” he said.

“So I am doing ocean trout gravlax with celeriac remoulade.”

The dish features as part of the signature lunch. Guests will also have duck ragout with green olives and coriander and finish with chocolate and dulce de leche tart with hazelnut ice cream.

If you miss out on the lunch, The Collaroy will have all three dishes on the menu during June.

The ocean trout gravlax is $19; the duck ragout main course $28 and the chocolate tart $12.

The Guillaume Brahimi lunch at The Collaroy is on Sunday, June 5, from 11am-3pm. Tickets are $100 a head for a glass of champagne, the demo and lunch. For $150 guests also receive a signed copy of the book.

Guillaume’s book will be sold at The Collaroy, after the event, from June 6. Buy a copy for $50.
