BREAKFAST Television wars relocated to the Northern Beaches today, with Channel Seven’s Sunrise broadcasting from Palm Beach and Channel Nine’s The Today Show hosting their weather from Manly.

Star-struck locals gathered around the Sunrise team at Palm Beach bright and early, as they chatted to Home and Away stars Scott Lee and Raechelle Banno.

The team has been on the road all this week, hosting from locations across the country.

Samantha Armytage and David Koch were set up on a stage for the live broadcast with the stunning Palm Beach sunrise in the backdrop.

The morning was not without controversy though, with the identity of the show’s famous “cash cow” accidentally revealed after the head of the costume fell off.

Meanwhile, The Today Show’s Stevie Jacobs was thrown into the hustle and bustle of the Australian Open of Surfing down at Manly, hosting the weather from 6am.

The bubbly presenter interviewed local surf pro siblings Bodhi and Cedar-Leigh Jones about their results over the weekend. Jacobs also quizzed one of the competitions hottest surfers, Felicity Palmateer as well as local favourite and world champion surfer Layne Beachley.

In between crosses Jacobs took time to tweet — including a shot of the sunrise over the water with the caption “Sun coming up over Manly for the Aust. Open of Surfing”.
