A MOSMAN not-for-profit organisation hopes recognition through the 2016 Telstra NSW Business Awards will enable it to help more at-risk young people in the community.
Youth mentoring organisation the Raise Foundation is a first-time finalist in the charity award category.
Founder, chief executive and Mosman mother Vicki Condon said the nomination was a big boost for Raise.
“We love the Telstra nomination because it recognises us as a business; not just as a charity,” she said.
“For us to grow and be able to reach more young people we need the support of the corporate business community.
“We think the Telstra Business Awards will give the corporate community confidence that they can trust the work that Raise is doing with young people.”
The lower north shore’s other finalists are: micro business award — Rufus and Coco, Cremorne; charity award — Butterfly Foundation, Crows Nest and CUFA, North Sydney.
There are 29 finalists. Winners will be announced on Friday.
State category winners will progress to national judging in late August.
