STEPPING into a designer wardrobe without the hefty price tag is now possible thanks to a new store.
Dress For A Night, which opened in North Sydney this year, has hundreds of gowns for hire.
“The reason why I started this is because I had multiple events to go to and I thought ‘Wouldn’t it be great if you could just borrow a dress’,” owner Roxy Lehmann said.
“I created something I wished existed”
Ms Lehmann worked in human resources for a firm in North Sydney and started up the business as a hobby, working out of a small showroom in Manly.
She walked away from her corporate career to focus on the business full- time and the move paid off. She stocks several Australian designers in a range of sizes including Thurley, Jadore and Nicholas.
The dresses are worth up to $1500 each and can be hired for between $79 to $269 for four days.
“Our customers tell us you can’t possibly wear a dress again after photos appear on social media,” she said. “The business is built on this desire to stand out at every event with the latest fashion, without the price tag.”
Dress For A Night has proved popular with mothers of the bride and bridesmaids. It also has corporate clients who attend charity balls.
Clients can visit the boutique at 245 Pacific Highway or rent a dress online at dressforanight.com.au.
