LEADING designers are marching towards Military Rd as it has landed another high-profile store.

Rebecca Vallance has chosen Mosman to open her debut retail outlet five years after launching the brand.

She enjoyed huge success last year and felt the timing was right to have her own high street space.

“Rebecca chose Mosman as the location for her first store based on high foot traffic and the availability of a larger retail space to give customers a true Rebecca Vallance brand experience,” her spokesman said.

The luxury brand joins Camilla and Marc, Bassike and Carla Zampatti in Mosman.

The Rebecca Vallance label has gained popularity thanks to its signature leather pieces, clean lines and impact prints.

She also has a strong celebrity following with Kelly Osbourne, Halle Berry and Rachel McAdams all fans of her designs.

Ms Vallance hopes the Mosman outlet will be the first of many as she has ambitions to roll out a series of stores around the world.

The brand is already stocked internationally and in David Jones throughout Australia.

Ms Vallance is also enjoying another first this month as she is showcasing her resort collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

The collection is inspired by young Hollywood on vacation in Florida in the 1970s.

Meanwhile, Mosman’s own luxe swimwear brand duskii is also taking part in fashion week for the first time.

Designer Patreece Botheras hopes that it will help boost the brand’s popularity.

“We would love to pick up some further international and local stockists,” she said.

“There are some amazing buyers representing global retailers coming to MBFWA this year — so very excited to be showcasing to this audience.”

The duskii label has gained high profile fans after launching three years ago.

Models Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Gemma Ward have been spotted wearing the designs and it is stocked in stores around the world.

The brand found a niche market for glamorous but functional activewear for the water.

“duskii was born out of the desire to wear something that I felt looked as good as it functioned,” Mrs Botheras said.

duskii’s 2017 resort collection will be shown on May 19 in the group swim show.
