The eyes of the fashion world could be on Bradfield Park next month as it is set to be transformed into a glamorous catwalk.
Designers Manning Cartell are planning to showcase their collection in the park for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
And the Milsons Point location was chosen to provide a spectacular harbour backdrop for the show.
“Bradfield Park and Plaza was selected as the ideal location for the show, as it offers spectacular views of iconic Sydney landmarks; the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Harbour,” the plans state.
The show would only last for 15 minutes but the 20m runway will take two days to build — and another two to deconstruct.
It is estimated the production will cost $40,000.
The collection will be showcased by 30 models and is expected to attract a large online audience.
International media are invited to the show alongside 250 guests.
No tickets will be sold for the invitation-only event but there will be viewing areas provided for the public.
A development application has been lodged with North Sydney Council by event organiser The Spark.
It states that measures will be included to ensure that the park site will be protected from damage such as protection of grass and trees.
The brand was founded by sisters Cheryl, Vanessa and Gabrielle Manning in 2005 and is sold internationally.
The Manning Cartel event is planned to take place at 9am on May 17.
