Greenfields Development Company general manager Mick Owens said his fingers were crossed the precinct would be in action by Christmas.

“It is fantastic that we have got to this point,” Mr Owens said.

“I think Ron’s Creek Park will be the best playground in the Camden local government area. We are really excited to get this off the ground.

“This year is the year of getting on and delivering those recreation projects, with works taking place on Doohan Reserve as well as the skate park and youth recreation centre.”

The Camden Local Planning Panel approved the precinct, noting the project was “a suitable and planned use of the site and its approval is within the public interest.”.

An extension of Dick Johnson Drive to access Ron’s Creek also was approved as part of the project.
