Camden Cricket Club has celebrated an unbeaten 175 not out, with hundreds of fans gracing Raby Sports Complex for the historic anniversary.

The rich history of the local club began in 1843 at Mawson Park, with records of a match against a Campbelltown team.

In 2019, the club has more than 400 active male and female players, ranging in age from eight to over 60.

The club has produced many junior players over the years.

Camden Cricket Club secretary Greg Little said it was a special day to carry on the club’s traditions to the next generation.

“For us to think of 175 years of history before us is just a phenomenal achievement, not just for the history of the club but the whole district,” he said.

A series of matches took place at Raby Sports Complex yesterday, including a re-enactment of the inaugural clash between life members and long-serving players of Camden Cricket Club and a Campbelltown invitational team.

Each player will receive a commemorative medallion.
