Police received reports about 7.15pm last night of a white Mitsubishi Magna, occupied by the three men, and a Holden Commodore driving erratically on Appin Rd.

The Holden suffered mechanical problems and stopped. Police say the trio approached the occupants of the Holden which triggered an argument, before demanding money.

One of the men produced a rifle and shot into the front of the Holden. No one was injured during the incident.

The trio stole a small amount of property and fled in the Mistubishi. Police were alerted to the incident and a short time later saw the vehicle parked on Appin Rd.
