A motorbike rider in his 20s has been taken to Liverpool Hospital with head injuries after a crash near a southwest Sydney shopping complex.
Emergency services were called to reports of a crash between a car and a motorbike on Copperfield Drive in Rosemeadow, near Ambarvale High School and Rosemeadow Marketplace, about 2:20pm on Wednesday.
Acting station manager at Bankstown NSW Ambulance superstation, Elissa Lo Nigro, attended the scene alongside multiple ambulance units which had responded to the incident.
She stated that the motorcyclist was treated for “injuries to his face and head” before being transported to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said early reports indicated the man may not have been wearing a helmet at the time of the impact and sustained a large “gash to the chin”.
A number of locals, including parents making their way to do school-pick up, witnessed the crash.
One woman, who said they were among those who witnessed the scene first-hand, posted on social media that she saw the rider go “flying over the car” and that the driver in the car seemed very “distraught”.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
