Two teenage girls are none the worse after being rescued from a tree in the backyard of a home at Ingleburn.
The girls, aged 13 and 14, had been up in the tree for more than half an hour when two crews from Fire and Rescue NSW St Andrews arrived on Tuesday, October 1.
Fire and Rescue NSW St Andrews station officer Hewon Parry told the Chronicle they received the triple-0 call at 1.17pm regarding the girls being stuck up the tree in a backyard of a home on Scanlen Way, Ingleburn.
“Our two crews arrived there within eight minutes of receiving the call,” Parry said.
He said the girls were a bit distressed when their crews arrived.
“The two girls had decided to climb the tree to check out the view but could not get down,” Perry said.
“They were around six metres from the ground when we arrived.
“We spoke to the girls and guided them to the jumbo ladder we had brought to the tree.
“One of the girls had a little scrape from the tree bark but there no injuries as such.

“The tree was quite high and the girls had climbed up quite a bit.”
Parry said firefighters get a lot of calls throughout the year for people or animals stuck in trees, including an injured koala.
“There are many calls for cats stuck in trees and we also had an arborist who had fallen from the branch and into his harness,” Parry said.
