A former Camden Health Care Centre medical practitioner has been sentenced to at least 11 years jail for 18 sex offences committed during medical consultations with patients.

Dr Sharif Fattah committed the crimes between September 2016 and March 2017.

Fattah, 62, assaulted women who had presented with a range of symptoms including rashes, coughs, bites, back pain, pelvic pain and vitamin deficiencies.

Fattah was found guilty of 13 counts of sexual intercourse without consent and five counts of assault with act of indecency by a District Court jury in May.

In the Parramatta District Court on Friday, Fattah was sentenced to 16 years and six months imprisonment with a non-parole period of 11 years.

He will not be eligible for parole until October 2028.

Camden Police Area Command has praised the courage of victims who came forward during the police investigation.
