CONSTRUCTION works on southwest Sydney’s newest logistics parks have begun.
Stockland celebrated the start of works this week on the Coopers Paddock logistics park. The $80 million office and warehouse site in Warwick Farm is a whopping 52,000sq m — creating 250 construction jobs and 300 long-term jobs.
The 11.5ha site was bought from the Australian Turf Club in 2014 and is expected to be finished by early 2018.
Daikin has pre-leased a huge portion of the project.
Taylor Constructions will build the development which also includes a Governor Macquarie Drive upgrade and recreation and environmental conservation area on adjoining land, including walking and cycling paths.
Liverpool Council Mayor Wendy Waller joined Daikin chairman Bob Woodhouse and Stockland representatives on Tuesday to celebrate.
“Projects like Coopers Paddock Logistics Park form a vital part of Liverpool’s growth, offering jobs to the local community and much-needed warehouse facilities to other companies in the region,” Cr Waller said.
Stockland logistics and business parks general manager Tony D’Addona said the state-of-the-art and sustainable logistics centre would be an important piece of infrastructure for western Sydney.
“The strong interest in Liverpool driven by a robust NSW economy and infrastructure investment offers a great opportunity to develop high quality assets, in the best locations,” he said.
“Our vision is to create a modern and functional warehouse estate which will support local employment.”
