5. INGLIS RIVERSIDE STABLES
The Inglis family’s new complex, Riverside Stables, in Warwick Farm opened its doors earlier this year.
The 10 ha precinct includes stables and a luxury 144-room hotel with facilities for conferences and corporate events.
The $140 million development has already provided a boost to the local economy, with visitors spending big at nearby restaurants and bars.
4. LOCAL UNIVERSITIES
Three universities have now put down roots in the Liverpool CBD, with Western Sydney University the latest to welcome local students.
It joins the University of Wollongong, based at Moore St, and the University of NSW, which has a South Western Sydney Clinical School at Liverpool Hospital.
3. WESTERN SYDNEY AEROTROPOLIS
Badgerys Creek will be a hive of activity by 2026 with a buzzing aerotropolis surrounding the new Western Sydney Airport.
The smart city will be a hub for aerospace, manufacturing, education and agribusiness, among other industries, and is expected to generate thousands of jobs.
2. WESTERN SYDNEY AIRPORT
The Western Sydney Airport has been described as a “once-in-generation” infrastructure project that will generate economic activity and create thousands of jobs.
Located at Badgerys Creek, the first planes will take off by 2026.
The Federal Government has invested $5.3 billion over 10 years to construct Sydney’s second airport.
1. LIVERPOOL INNOVATION PRECINCT
A $740 million health and education precinct in the heart of Liverpool will rival the world’s best medical hubs and become a magnet for investment.
The multimillion-dollar upgrade is expected to create employment opportunities, making the health sector the biggest employer in the city.
Significant parts of Liverpool Hospital will be upgraded including women’s health units, the emergency department and the paediatrics unit.
The precinct will also add a private hospital, a centre of excellence for cancer and an advanced manufacturing, automation and logistics hub.
