Major projects and investments are announced on an almost weekly basis, some of which have been welcomed by residents, while others have caused controversy.
The Leader is counting the top 20 game changers transforming the face of our city. Here are our picks for numbers 15-11.
15. REDEVELOPMENT OF MILLER
Residential developments such as The Avala are set to rejuvenate Miller and surrounding suburbs.
The three-tower development on Cartwright Ave will offer 145 apartments when it is completed in 2019.
14. COOPERS PADDOCK LOGISTICS PARK
Stockland’s newest logistics park, Coopers Paddock at Warwick Farm, will bring 51,015 sqm of flexible office and warehouse space across four buildings to Liverpool.
The $80 million project will create 300 long-term jobs.
13. WESTRAC HEADQUARTERS
Westrac’s new home at the Crossroads in Casula will officially open next month.
The leading Australian Caterpillar dealer’s new 24,000 sqm facility will include a warehouse, a workshop and a regional office for WesTrac NSW/ACT.
12. AMAZON MOVES IN
Online retail giant Amazon announced earlier this year it will open a new distribution warehouse in Moorebank.
The 43,000 sqm facility is expected to create hundreds of jobs in the region and is almost double the size of Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Victoria, which opened in December.
11. SKYHAUS
Liverpool’s tallest residential towers form a gateway into the CBD.
The 32-storey buildings have been a talking point among residents in recent years, with some welcoming the project and others expressing concerns about increased density in Liverpool.
