From wine and gin to award-winning gelati and cured meats, a new festival is bringing the best in food and wine to The Hills.

The first Hills Food and Wine Festival will be held on Sunday, October 13 with a mix of local and well-known NSW food and drink vendors setting up stalls at Bella Vista Farm.

Visitors will find Hills businesses like The Burrow Cafe, Quoi Dining and the Australian Brewery, alongside some of Sydney’s biggest food names like Cow & Moon Gelato and Archie Rose.

Joining the drinks vendors are Karu Distillery, Buffalo Vale, and wineries including Elephant Mountain, Irongate and Hanging Tree.

When the festival's organisers, Meg Wong and Tiana Quinn, realised there were no food and wine festivals in The Hills they decided to do something about it.

“We’d often go on our weekends to other suburbs for food and wine festivals … and we just got chatting about it, why isn’t there one in our area?,” Wong said.

They began planning the festival six months ago and found people were “so enthusiastic” to take part.

“We really want to bring awareness to The Hills as a suburb and what we have to offer,” Wong said.

As well as sipping and snacking their way through the afternoon, festival goers can also try their hand at painting or enjoy live music while children can enjoy amusement rides and activities.

The festival will be held from 10am-4pm and entry is free but tickets are limited. Register here.
