If NSW Election candidates for The Hills are correct, the battle for votes could be won — or lost — in the high-rise apartments changing the skyline of Sydney’s northwest.
Six candidates in Baulkham Hills and a further four from Castle Hill — all with wide-ranging political backgrounds — are vying for support from residents on March 23, with a clear mantra of election priorities at the polling booth.
Other election priorities from candidates include promises for our soon-to-be-built Rouse Hill Hospital and demands to get students into permanent local classrooms.
When it comes to the candidates for both electorates, voters will be spoiled for choice with a range of major and minor parties, long serving incumbent ministers and grassroots advocates appearing on the ballot papers.
In Baulkham Hills incumbent state Liberal MP David Elliott is squaring up against Hills Shire Labor councillor Ryan Tracey, Sustainable Australia candidate Heather Boyd, Animal Justice Party candidate Linda Newfield, Greens representative Erica Hockley and Christian Democrat Craig Hill.
