Maraylya: Adhok Yac assaulted cop at Bitalli St house party

A young woman’s shameful rap sheet got even longer after she assaulted a policeman and called him a dumb c*** as he tried to shut down a house party.

A young woman’s shameful rap sheet got longer after she was convicted of assaulting a policeman and calling him a “dumb c***” at a wild Airbnb house party in Maraylya.

Young Mt Druitt woman Adhok Yac added another conviction to her criminal history after she assaulted the policeman at an Airbnb house party in November.

The 23-year-old unemployed serial offender breached bail for assault charges in 2019 during the assault of Senior Constable Michael Barnes on November 1, when court papers revealed most of the 80 revellers were drunk at the Bitalli St party.

A Hills police car attended the home, which was rented by unknown people, about 1.20am after noise complaints from the public.

But the partygoers were aggressive and uncooperative, forcing police to break up a brawl in the middle of the street as well as call for help from Quakers Hill and Hawkesbury police, the Dog Squad and Polair.

Court documents state when Senior Constable Barnes was guiding a small group of people, including Yac, from the party from the house towards Valletta Drive, she suddenly slapped him to the left cheek, “causing him immediate pain to that area’’ about 2.10am.

Capsicum spray was then used on Yac’s face before she ran a short distance away.

Court papers reveal that 10 minutes later she told Sergeant Mark Dean she wanted to go back to the party because “my friends are up there”.

When he gestured towards the victim and suggested Sen-Constable Barnes could escort her back she retorted: “No, that’s the dumb c*** that just pepper sprayed me.’’

When he said to the accused ‘So you are the woman that slapped me.’’ The accused said ‘’Yes, I slapped you in the face.’’

She was arrested and taken to Castle Hill police station and charged with assaulting a police officer and initially declined to be interviewed.

At Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, Magistrate Tim Keady convicted Yac, who represented herself, and handed her an 18-month community correction order. She must also complete 80 hours of community service.

The sentence included breaching bail for two counts of assault in 2019.

Yac’s criminal record, which was tendered to the court, showed offences dating back to February 2019 and including possessing prohibited drugs, assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, driving a motor vehicle with a suspended licence and possessing equipment for administering of prohibited drugs.
