A Gold Coast man has been caught stealing luxury cars and the boasting about it on social media while his glamorous girlfriend held the keys.

A Gold Coast man and his glamorous partner have been caught out in a Blacktown cafe with the keys to several stolen luxury cars.
Luke Lythgoe, 33, who has pleaded guilty to stealing luxury cars from dealerships at Ryde and Parramatta, and then boasting about it on social media, and his partner Ashleigh Wilson, 21, were nabbed outside Nadia’s cafe at Westpoint Blacktown last week after driving there in a stolen white Audi RS3.
Court documents reveal police found the unemployed woman’s handbag contained stolen car keys for a Ford Mustang, BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen Electronic, a set of keys with a Forest Lodge address and black and silver key on a belt chain.
The couple was nabbed at the busy Westpoint shopping centre, before being taken to Blacktown police station where Wilson responded with “no comment’’ during the police interview.
The couple fronted Parramatta Local Court on Friday where Wilson pleaded guilty after she was charged with unlawfully obtaining goods.
The woman from Gold Coast suburb Miami was fined $500 and given a conditional release order (good behaviour bond) for 12 months.
At Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, Lythgoe also pleaded guilty to two counts of taking and driving conveyance without consent of the owner, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not a motor vehicle), possessing identity to commit an indictable offence and using a false document to obtain property.
Court papers reveal the father stole a blue Volkswagen Golf from Prestige Auto Traders at Rozelle on December 21 before stealing a white Audi RS3 from Hunter Holden at Ryde on December 30 shortly after 2pm.
He possessed a Queensland driver’s licence belonging to Flinders Brunton with the intention of stealing a car after he was arrested at Blacktown, according to court documents.
Lythgoe also pleaded guilty to an assault at Warilla, near Shellharbour, in May 2011.
His partner, Wilson — who fled to NSW from Queensland with him last month so he could avoid warrants from Queensland police — was released from prison on Friday after her guilty plea and sentence.
Lythgoe will remain behind bars after being refused bail and is due to return to court on January 14.
