Seven residential towers, valued at $300 million, will soon be part of a Hills suburb’s rapidly transforming skyline.
Construction is set to begin on property developer KWG Australia’s “Castle Island”, an apartment precinct in the heart of Castle Hill.
The 4-6 Sexton Ave site is located in the Castle Hill Showground, an area undergoing marked redevelopment as it transforms into a high-density residential and urban hub.
It is located about 600m east of the Showground Metro Station and 2km from Castle Towers.
Castle Island will feature 295 apartments split across seven residential towers.
The design of Castle Island is led by a team of local and international architects, including Canada’s Glyph Studio, Hong Kong-based DLN Architects and Australia’s Giles Tribe Architects.
Speaking to The Hills Shire Times, Ray White Projects managing partner Eddie Mansour said this team of architects designed the apartments with space and light at the forefront of their minds.
“It wasn’t ever about squeezing in as many apartments as possible, it’s about creating an actual community,” Mr Mansour said.
“The high-quality finishes also ensure it won’t look like just another box-shaped development.”
Mr Mansour said Castle Hill was chosen as the best site for this development because of the suburb’s family-friendly nature.
“(The Castle Hill) community is growing, it’s got a great shopping precinct … and the Hills has some of the best schools in Sydney,” Mr Mansour said.
When finished, this residential precinct will also feature a function area, a library with work-from-home pods, a gym, a cinema and three separate rooftop areas.
The apartments will range in size and price from $610,000 one-bedroom homes to $1.8 million three-bedroom “sky homes”.
These “sky homes” are the largest apartments, featuring outdoor balconies which cover almost as much surface area as the internal residency.
The first stage of this development — 108 apartments, split between three towers — is set to commence in the coming weeks.
If construction goes to schedule, the first residents are expected to move into their homes by early 2024.
