A man accused of concealing the murder of Bandidos central west bikie boss Shane De Britt has been refused bail in court.

Police arrested 28-year-old Wellington man Timothy Robert Lamont at the Mitchell Inn pub, in the tiny town of Geurie, on Wednesday afternoon.

He was charged with concealing a serious indictable offence, using an authorised firearm and hindering an investigation into a serious indictable offence.

Mr Lamont did not enter any pleas when he appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Thursday to apply for bail.

In court documents police said Mr Lamont allegedly failed to give them information he had about the murder of 60-year-old Mr De Britt, who was shot dead at his farm at Eurimbla, about 50km south of Wellington in January 2020.

Mr Lamont is also alleged to have passed information on to others.

According to police, the information Mr Lamont allegedly shared was not publicly known or readily available.

Mr Lamont is also accused of possessing and using rifles he was not authorised to have.

During the bail hearing in court, defence lawyer Joy Kirby said Mr Lamont had been living in Wellington for a relatively short time, worked full-time and suffered from depression and anxiety.

The court heard police put Mr Lamont under surveillance and had strong evidence which showed him discussing the murder.

Magistrate Theresa Hamilton agreed and refused bail.

The case returns to court in February.

Police say their investigations are continuing.
