An almost $800,000 office expansion on Cobbora Road has been submitted to Dubbo Regional Council this week. Take a look at the proposed project.

A newly proposed $780,000 office expansion earmarked for a commercial building on Cobbora Road has been submitted to Dubbo Regional Council this week.

The project put forward by ‘Lysaght’ and designed by Barnson will see the demolition of existing office spaces and metal-clad shed structure, and replaced by the construction of a new two-storey office extension with a rear awning to “support the business”.

An additional 12 parking spaces are planned to consolidate the four existing spots.

“The purpose of the office extension is to improve flow; provide an improved reception area; meeting areas and storage space,” the developer said.

“The rear awning is to protect an open storage area and to the building openings from the elements.”

The new ground floor will include a foyer and display area, two sales offices, a transport office, a lift to get to the first floor, open office space, kitchenette and a parts warehouse which can be accessed from a roller door.

The first floor will see stairs leading to an outdoor area, a meeting room, boardroom, print station, staffroom, and amenities such as male and female toilets and change rooms.

While the proposed development will not produce further employment opportunities, the developer said, “it is in the public interest for the development to proceed, in the enhancement of the locality and to provide for growth of the Dubbo community” and “provide a positive economic benefit for the area”.

The development application is on exhibition until September 25.
