A developer has revealed plans for a series of glamping tents for a bougie central west eco-tourist facility. See the plans

‘Unique’ plans for an eco-tourist facility in the state’s central west has been revealed.

The proposed development at Spicers Creek – 80 kilometres outside of Dubbo – will include two semi-permanent ‘glamping’ tents to be utilised as temporary accommodation, adding to an existing dwelling which already includes a homestead, farm buildings and walking tracks across the 120 hectare property.

“The proposal will provide guests with a unique accommodation experience surrounded by rolling hills and views across the rural landscape,” the planner said.

“Guests will enjoy a sense of remoteness and immersion in nature, while enjoying the comforts of the glamping tents.

“The local area has very limited accommodation options, with little diversity and of a unique nature, particularly those of an eco-tourist nature.”

The ‘glamping’ tents will have two bedrooms, each including ensuite bathrooms as well as an open plan kitchenette, dining and lounge room and timber decking wrapping around the front and sides.

The proposed tourist venture will aim to ensure the ecological presence of the site and that the locality is “retained and preserved,” while giving tourists the opportunity to explore and admire the natural landscape of the site along with the wider Wellington region.

“Walking trails (will) be established throughout the development site to allow visitors to enjoy the natural landscape,” the planner said.

The planner said the “immediate vicinity” of the ‘glamping’ tents will be surrounded with lawns and gardens which will be managed and serviced on a weekly basis, without damaging the natural environment.

The DA is available for public viewing until Monday, September 12.
