A new $7 million office development including three single storey buildings is part of a proposed expansion to Dubbo’s Blueridge Business Park.
The development application at 30 Blueridge Drive, Dubbo was submitted to Dubbo Regional Council last week with the site also having frontage to the Mitchell Highway, although vehicular access is only proposed from Blueridge Drive.
It will include a total of 14 office units, an outdoor staff area, 91 car parking spaces along with three accessible car spots and two motorbike spaces, landscaping, signage and associated site works with construction to be completed over two stages.
The application prepared by Blueridge Projects will see an accounting firm operating from unit one with the premises providing “administrative, technical and professional services”.
Tenants for the remaining units are yet to be confirmed, although there are options for a medical centre to use one of the buildings.
The proposal will be a boost to the area with properties within the business park including warehouse buildings, cafes, a gymnasium, a childcare facility and other office spaces, as well as a swim centre currently under construction.
If approved, the property will have operational hours from 6am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
“In all, it is expected that the development will have a net socio-economic benefit through the generation of both short-term employment and activity during construction as well as ongoing employment once the site is operational,” the masterplan stated.
Staff onsite will see people employed on a full time, part-time and casual basis.
According to a statement of environmental effects, the land is cleared and generally flat and is not subject to flooding or bushfires.
The DA is on exhibition until Saturday, August 27.
