Solange’s exclusive shows
Grammy Award-winning recording artist, songwriter and activist Solange Knowles returns to our shores for her only Australian performances at the Sydney Opera House, as part of Vivid Sydney. She will be performing hits from her number one album A Seat at the Table.

African signing and dancing
The Ubuntu choir presents a concert of African singing, dancing and drumming

Food lovers paradise
The expansive grounds of Campbelltown’s Mawson Park will be transformed into a food lover’s paradise on Friday from 5pm to 9pm. Grab the family and come along and experience an evening pop-up food market featuring food trucks, international cuisine, desserts, live entertainment and spectacular lighting. Vivid at Luna Park
For the first time, Vivid Sydney’s dazzling Light Walk extends to Luna Park Sydney, where the iconic amusement park will come alive with the Spirit of Fun, a large-scale projection on the facade of Coney Island; Phantasos, a five minute spectacle on the Luna Park Ferris Wheel; a silent disco and plenty more. Spirit of Fun is a dramatic and emotive son et lumiere celebrating the history and magic of Luna Park. A grand projection on Coney Island brings to life the artworks, characters and soul of the park and opens a window to its future of fun. Experience an explosion of colour, light and music as Phantasos, the spirit of surreal dreams, paints a picture on the biggest dream catcher in Sydney. Every day until June 16. Bogan night
Yeah luvvie, maaates — we’re talking to you. Throw out the make-up and fancy clobber and don the flannelette. You know you want to and it will be the perfect opportunity when the Ettamogah Hotel, Kellyville Ridge, hosts Bogan and Sheilas Night. Hype will perform its parodies — sure to bring out the bogan in all of us. You’ll be spewin’ if you miss it so head there from 9pm.

Sydney Jazz Collective

Rock and roll charity gig
Les Gock, former guitarist with 1970s Australian glam rockers Hush, will lead a charity gig with The Interceptors on Saturday, June 2. Hush had a No.1 hit with Bony Moronie in 1975 and achieved 12 gold records. Gock now plays lead guitar with The Interceptors, featuring Ray Lee (vocals and keyboards) John Pearce (vocals and bass), Tony Grant (guitars), Tim Sprague (drums) and Sue Pearce (vocals). The band has been working on some new classic blues and rock tunes and will play The Bunker at Coogee Diggers on Saturday in support of cancer charity Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. Show with Aussie tribute band
Rock on to one of the most entertaining bands to come out of the US - Creedence Clearwater Revival. Australian tribute band Heard It Through the Grapevine will perform the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogerty at Windsor RSL Club. Riverside Theatre stages Australian musical
Originally staged in 1958 to rave reviews, the iconic Australian musical Lola Montez is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a once-in-a-lifetime concert starring Helpmann nominee Debora Krizak, Peter Cousens, Scott Irwin and Red Symons. Based on the true story of the infamous Irish-born Spanish dancer‘s visit to Ballarat in 1856, the musical centres around Lola’s unforgettable impact on everyone she came across through her spellbinding dance, sensuality and fierce independence.

Free Biennale tours
Carriageworks offers free 45-minute guided tours every Saturday at 11.30am for the 21st Sydney Biennale. Buddy’s back
The Buddy Holly tribute show, ‘Buddy’s Back’ is coming to Blacktown Workers Club on Saturday night at 8pm. During this two hour show, Scot Robin, who was the first Australian performer to play the lead role in the smash hit musical “Buddy”, The Buddy Holly Story, will perform over 30 of Buddy Holly’s hit songs including: That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Rave On and Oh Boy! The Buddy Holly Show will have audiences dancing in the aisles!

Run to cure common cancer

Manly fun run
The 2018 Manly Rotary Fun Run and Walk is on this Sunday. This annual event raises fund for Manly Rotary which then donates money to important community activities. This scenic run or walk has become a favourite of the peninsula for this kind of events.The run is through the picturesque Manly beach headland and the national park of North Head. There are various distances, catering for various levels of expertise. These are 10km, 5km and 2km. The 2km event is dog and pram friendly. Apart from the fun and fitness you will be helping to raise monies for the many charities that Manly Rotary support on the peninsula and throughout Sydney.
