From assaulting relatives in Coles, stealing designer clothes, alcohol and even a paddle board to being passengers in not one, but two police pursuits, an unemployed Wyong couple’s crime spree has come to an end after their arrest last week.
Tori Nunn, 24, and her partner Cherine Wilson, 30, both of Wyong, were arrested after police posted their mugshots on social media in a bid to track them down when they repeatedly failed to attend court and warrants were issued.
Both women faced Wyong Local Court on Tuesday where they pleaded guilty to multiple offences dating back to January including failing to isolate while infected with Covid when they were picked up after a police pursuit through Bateau Bay.
Several sets of agreed facts tendered to court with their guilty pleas state the couple were well known to police and were living in a government housing unit at Wyong.
They state Nunn put a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey down her pants at Liquorland Budgewoi on January 19 before she was captured on CCTV driving, while suspended, up to the BCF at Tuggerah in the early hours of January 23.
In the footage Nunn was seen holding a flash light and trying to pry up a roller door before stealing a stand up paddle board.
When police viewed the footage they “immediately recognised the accused” and went around to a room at Strathavon Resort, Wyong, the next day, where they seized wallets and other items believed to be stolen.
On June 27 the pair got into a fight with a second cousin of Nunn’s at Coles Killarney Vale where they punched her and another man before being thrown out by security.
A month later on July 29 they were both charged with being passengers in a black Mitsubishi Lancer with stolen plates, which led police on a pursuit through Bateau Bay.
The pursuit ended when the Lancer crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided heavily with a stationary police vehicle.
The facts state Nunn and Wilson got out of the car and started running but were arrested.
They were granted bail.
They were picked up again on August 4 when they were passengers in another car involved in a police pursuit and told officers they had been diagnosed the day before with Covid.
Wilson said she had the text message on her phone to prove it.
The pair were again out on bail when they filled up a white Nissan Navara at Ampol Kariong and the Metro Petroleum at Berkeley Vale on separate occasions in September.
The vehicle had been reported stolen after it was hired from U-Haul Australia at Blacktown and not returned on August 12.
The facts state Nunn had been driving again, despite her licence being disqualified until January 2027, and the Navara had been fitted with false “handmade” number plates.
Nunn and Wilson also pleaded guilty to shoplifting $765 worth of Nike and Adidas clothing from Rebel at West Gosford in July and $718.71 worth of designer clothing brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein from Costco at Boolaroo in September.
The women were captured on CCTV leaving that store in the same white Nissan Navara.
Both women were formally refused bail to reappear on November 22 to set a sentencing date.
