Teenage boys, both 15, charged with alleged looting-style raids at Bateau Bay an Erina shopping centres

Two boys, both 15, have been charged after they were allegedly part of a teenage gang wanted for smash-and-grab raids at two Central Coast shopping centres.

Two 15-year-old boys have been charged after they were allegedly involved in looting-style raids at two Central Coast shopping centres.

About 3am on Sunday, police were called to Erina Fair shopping centre following reports of a break and enter.

At the scene, police were told that several teenagers allegedly arrived at the centre in a stolen SUV before smashing the windscreen of a parked car and stealing from a number of businesses within the centre.

The group then allegedly travelled to Bateau Bay Square where several kiosks and food outlets were allegedly ransacked.

Early on Thursday, a number of similar offences allegedly occurred at the same two shopping centres.

Following extensive inquiries, police carried out two search warrants at Bateau Bay and Killarney Vale on Thursday afternoon.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested at the Bateau Bay home and taken to Wyong police station where he was charged with 15 offences including seven counts of trespassing with intent commit an indictable offence, three counts of destroying property, two counts of driving a stolen car, aggravated breaking and entering and breaching bail.

At the Killarney Vale home, a second 15-year-old boy was arrested and also taken to Wyong police station where he was charged with 12 offences.

These included seven counts of trespassing with intent, three counts of being carried in a stolen car and two counts of aggravated breaking and entering.

Both boys were refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday.

Inquiries into the incidents are continuing.
