A young man will face a hearing late next year after pleading not guilty to firebombing a four-wheel drive at Glenning Valley.

Michael Page, 24, of Killarney Vale, was not required to appear via video link at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday.

His lawyer formally entered a not guilty plea to one count of damaging property by fire and the matter was adjourned to October 9.

The NSW Police have been given a deadline of September 18 to provide Mr Page’s legal defence with a brief of evidence and he is expected to be assigned a hearing date on his next appearance.

The court heard dates for contested matters were likely to be dealt with late next year.

His appearance comes after emergency services were called to Ashwood Close, at Glenning Valley, following reports of a vehicle alight on July 23.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.

The grey Toyota Landcruiser dual cab ute suffered significant damage to its front end but no one was injured.

Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

During investigations, police located an incendiary device underneath the vehicle, which was seized for forensic analysis.

About 8am on August 16, police from Tuggerah Lakes’ Proactive Crime Team conducted a raid at a home on Oxley Rd, Killarney Vale.

Officers arrested Mr Page at the home about 9am and he was taken to The Entrance police station where he was charged with damaging property by fire along with supplying a commercial quantity of drugs and breaching bail.

He was refused bail and is yet to enter any pleas to the allegations of drug supply or breaching bail.
