Plans are underway for a $6.5m mixed-use development in the heart of Lisarow.

A proposal has been lodged with Central Coast Council by Printban Pty Ltd for a three storey development to include a medical centre and childcare centre at 121 Newling St.

The location is next door to the Lisarow Woolworths supermarket on the vacant, sloping block.

The proposed medical centre would have four consulting rooms, while the childcare centre would cater for 102 children aged zero to five and 17 staff members.

A small commercial tenancy is also proposed as well as off-street carparking for 61 vehicles and landscaping around the development.

“At the ground level, which will be at the same level as the Woolworths supermarket, is the medical centre and likely associated pathology room, and the small commercial tenancy, and these areas are serviced by a lift providing access from the carparking area, and with pedestrian access also available for customers using the supermarket,” the plans state.

“The child care centre is located on the first and second levels, with direct access to the carparking area on the second level, and with lift access also from the car park area to the first level.”

The proposed building has a maximum building height of 13.5m, which is outside the 11.5m height limit for the area. The applicant has asked for the council to accept the height variation for this development due to the lift overrun.

“The proposal will result in positive economic impacts, providing additional medical services and child care services that will provide quality learning and development outcomes for children, as well as providing services and support for parents and carers,” the report states.

The applicant says the plans also provide local employment opportunities.

The proposed hours of the childcare centre would be Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm and the medical centre hours would be Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm.

The latest $6.5m plans come following Taco Bell’s proposal for Lisarow Plaza. The Mexican fast food chain has lodged plans with council for a $1.9m restaurant at the overflow carpark between the Coles and Woolworths.

The plans state it will provide at least 70 local jobs.
