Mounties Group is continuing its huge takeover across the Central Coast.
The south west Sydney club giant has amalgamated with Halekulani Bowling Club and Club Wyong and is set to join forces with Breakers Country Club, not to mention sponsoring major events across the region.
Now they have launched their first GP clinic for members, choosing an already established practice in Wyoming.
Invitation to Health is an integrative medical practice on Henry Parry Drive which, as of December 3, is owned by Mounties Care as part of its strategy to deliver GP health services to members.
Mounties Group launched its home-based healthcare service Mounties Care in 2020 and made the decision to expand and open physical clinics across NSW.
Invitation to Health was founded in 2003 by Dr Penny Caldicott and Eric D’Indy and has more than 4000 patients and 12 practitioners.
Mounties has stated that the practice will continue to operate as Invitation to Health for the foreseeable future and Dr Caldicott and Mr D’Indy will help the club open other Mounties Care locations across NSW, with clinics set to open at Harbord Diggers and Mounties in the next six months.
Dr Caldicott said she was delighted with the move and what it will mean for the centre.
“We formed the practice in 2003 with a vision to provide a community of care to address the dis-ease of our times,” she said.
“We wanted to welcome, listen and provide the best possible evidence-based solutions for the increasing burden of chronic disease in our communities. This mission, along with our values, aligns with how Mounties have always operated – like us, they truly care about members of the community and improving their lives.
“Being part of a group that has such a huge footprint across NSW means that we can reach and provide care to even more people with our unique approach to health. I can confidently speak on behalf of my entire team to say, we are incredibly excited at what the future holds.” Mounties Group chief executive officer Dale Hunt said this move had been a year in the making.
“Mounties Care has had an outstanding year since its initial launch and this move adds another ‘string to our bow’ for our members and local communities,” he said.
“Our ethos of improving the lives of our members is something we carry through in everything we do. When we first launched Mounties Care, the goal was always to have physical locations for members to access high quality face-to-face care, at a time and place most convenient to them and when they need it the most.
“Our home-based services are running well, with many members using the current services. We have spent the past year seeking the right partner for this next phase in our service offering and we know that we have struck absolute gold with Invitation to Health.”
The deal with Breakers Country Cub is set to go ahead with Mounties AGM held over the weekend.
Breakers Country Club chief executive officer Ken Pearson said Mounties would present the club with many more opportunities.
“Mounties Group are a powerhouse when it comes to club strategy, financials and community spirit. Their profit-for-purpose business model was a big draw card for us, and they really prove to be, time and time again, true to their word,” he said.
“Aside from better buying power and the obvious staff and member benefits, Mounties Group have promised an $11 million master plan to improve the venue as well as a $200,000 a year investment over the next 5 years in the golf course.”
The amalgamation needs to be approved by Liquor and Gaming NSW before it becomes official.
