The former Gosford Classic Car Museum has hit the market with the sprawling 2.51ha site listed with Sydney property agent Cushman & Wakefield.
The property at 3-13 Stockyard Place, West Gosford, is being offered for sale by expressions of interest which close on April 11.
It comes just weeks after the Express Advocate revealed the museum had closed following a lengthy dispute over luxury car tariffs and GST with the Australian Taxation Office.
The former Bunnings site also comes with an approved development application for a seven storey eco-friendly tower featuring 6500sq m of retail floor space, world class auction house, display suits, gym and call centre.
Real estate agent Cushman & Wakefield are promoting the property as “superbly located opposite the busy West Gosford Home Centre” with 221 carparking spots, a high clearance warehouse and modern offices.
The total existing building area is 9,829sq m.
The Gosford Classic Car Museum opened in 2016 with an estimated $70 million worth of vintage, sports and rare vehicles on display.
However it closed last month after a two-year battle between its millionaire owner Tony Denny (pictured) and the ATO.
The remaining cars will go under the hammer on April 6 and 7 in a fire sale hosted by Lloyds Auctions.
The museum’s closure also resulted in the loss of 40 local jobs.
Meanwhile Tourism Central Coast director Russell Mills described the closure of the popular attraction as “a blow” to the region.
