NSW Police Strike Force Raptor has charged a former Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang member and an associate after weapons and a stolen motorcycle were seized from a home on the Central Coast yesterday.
Police said the arrests were part of ongoing targeting of illegal activities of the gang and suppression of violent acts.
The Criminal Group Squad’s Strike Force Raptor, with the help from the Public Order and Riot Squad, searched a home in Emu Drive at San Remo, about 7.30am on Wednesday.
Inside the property, investigators allegedly seized three replica firearms, an extendible baton, a torch with an electronic control function, a small amount of Diazepam, cannabis and methylamphetamine, and a Yamaha motorcycle, alleged to have been stolen from a break-in at Merewether in December 2018.
During a search of a vehicle, officers seized another replica firearm, a red and blue dash mounted light and handcuffs. The vehicle was also seized.
A 50-year-old man and a 37-year-old man were arrested at the property and taken to Wyong Police Station.
The older man, who is a former high-ranking member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang, was charged with two counts of possess unauthorised pistol, possess unauthorised firearm and two counts of possess prohibited weapon.
The younger man was charged with driving a conveyance taken without the consent of owner, driving while disqualified, two counts of possessing prohibited drugs and possessing a prohibited weapon.
Both men were refused bail and are due to appear before Wyong Local Court today.
